Integrate and Automate Shipping for Opencart Multivendor Marketplace Using EasyPost API
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
Automating Shipping for Opencart Multivendor Marketplace Using EasyPost API
We have an Opencart Multivendor (built on https://github.com/Th3Mostaql/Multivendor) and are aiming to automate the shipping process for our multi-seller marketplace, similar to eBay. By integrating the EasyPost API, we want to provide seamless shipping solutions for both customers and sellers. This integration will enable real-time shipping rates, easy label purchasing, and tracking—directly within the platform.
Customer Experience (Checkout Page)
At the point of checkout, customers should be able to:
• View real-time shipping rates: Calculated dynamically for each item in their cart based on the respective seller’s origin address and the customer’s shipping address.
• Accurate shipping quotes: Get quotes from carriers like USPS, UPS, FedEx, etc., via EasyPost, using item dimensions and weight.
• Estimated delivery times: View delivery time estimates, if available via the EasyPost API, based on the selected shipping option.
Seller Experience (Seller Panel - Opencart Multivendor)
Sellers should have the following shipping tools available in their panel for each order:
• “Purchase Shipping Label” button: A button within the seller panel to purchase shipping labels directly through the platform.
• Visibility of shipping costs: Sellers should be able to view the shipping label cost upfront using rates retrieved from EasyPost.
• Post-purchase features:
Sellers can download and print the label immediately.
The order is automatically updated with a tracking number.
The customer is notified with tracking details.
Platform Requirements (Admin & Seller Infrastructure)
For better administrative control and monetization, the platform should support the following:
• Payment integration for shipping labels: Sellers should be able to pay for shipping labels through integrated payment methods like Stripe or PayPal when purchasing the label.
• Admin-configurable markup on shipping labels: Enable the marketplace to apply a percentage-based fee over the base shipping cost, helping to cover payment processing fees or generate additional revenue.
By integrating EasyPost with Opencart’s Multivendor system, we aim to deliver a streamlined, automated shipping process that benefits both sellers and customers, making transactions faster and more efficient.
