FlightRadar24 / FlightAware API Integration to Flight Schedule Board .xlsm
Budget: $50 – $60 SGD
I have a macro-enabled workbook, Flight Schedule Board.xlsm, that currently relies on manual entry. I want it to pull live flight information directly through an API—FlightRadar24, FlightAware, or whichever source you feel is most stable and well-documented. I have both FR24 and FA API keys ready.
For every monitored flight the sheet should automatically populate:
• Aircraft registration
• Estimated arrival time
• Current status (en-route, landed, etc.)
• Gate assignment
The feed needs to refresh itself every three hours and I also need a “Refresh” button inside the workbook that runs the same routine on demand. I require to keep the refresh rate within 10 seconds.
I’m comfortable with the update running through VBA, Power Query, or an add-in—whichever approach keeps the workbook self-contained and easy to maintain.
Deliverables
1. A working connection in Flight Schedule Board.xlsm that retrieves the four data points above.
2. VBA (or equivalent) code, fully commented, that triggers on a schedule and via a button.
3. Clear setup notes so I can adjust API keys, endpoint URLs, or sheet ranges in the future.
I’ll consider the project complete once the workbook updates reliably from the chosen API and displays accurate, real-time data without manual intervention.
