Expert Backend Developer for SaaS MVP (API Integrations & Supabase)

Project Overview:
We are looking for a highly skilled and reliable backend developer to build the engine for a new SaaS analytics platform MVP. We have a complete, professionally designed, and clickable front-end prototype built in React. Your role will be to build the backend functionality, integrate critical third-party APIs, and connect them to the existing front-end.
This is an exciting opportunity to be the foundational technical expert for a promising new B2B application. You will be working directly with the non-technical founder.
Core Responsibilities & Scope of Work:
The primary goal is to build a functional backend that achieves the following:
1. Backend & Database Setup:
-Set up and configure a backend using Supabase to handle user authentication (login/signup) and the primary database (PostgreSQL).
2. Third-Party API Integration - Data Ingestion:
-Integration #1 (Transactional Data): Securely connect to a third-party Point-of-Sale (POS) system API (we will start with Brink POS). This involves handling API key authentication and creating a service to periodically fetch structured transactional data.
-Integration #2 (Marketing Platform Data): Securely connect to a major marketing platform's API (Facebook Ads API) via OAuth. This involves creating a service to fetch campaign performance data (e.g., spend, clicks, impressions).
3. Third-Party API Integration - Data Egress:
-Integration #3 (Conversion Events): Develop a service to send processed data back to the marketing platform's server-to-server API (Facebook Conversions API).
4. Business Logic & API Development:
-Create server-side logic to process, correlate, and perform calculations on the data fetched from the transactional and marketing APIs.
-Build a simple, secure REST API with endpoints for the front-end to call (e.g., GET /api/dashboard-data). This API will provide the front-end with the calculated KPIs and data needed to populate the dashboard.
5. Front-End Integration:
-Connect the backend API endpoints you build to the existing React front-end, replacing all mock data with live data.
6. Deployment:
-Deploy the backend application to a modern cloud hosting service (e.g., Vercel, Render, or AWS).
Our Tech Stack:
-Front-End (Already Built): React.js
-Backend (To Be Built): We are open to your expertise but prefer Node.js (TypeScript) or Python (FastAPI/Django).
-Database / BaaS: Supabase (PostgreSQL, Auth)
-Deployment: Vercel, Render, AWS, or similar.
What We're Looking For:
-Proven experience (3+ years) in building and deploying backend services for web applications.
-Demonstrable expertise in integrating with third-party REST APIs, including complex authentication flows (OAuth 2.0, API Keys).
-Strong proficiency in either Node.js/TypeScript or Python.
-Experience with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases.
-Experience with Supabase or Firebase is a huge plus.
-Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a non-technical founder.
-A proactive problem-solver who can take ownership of the backend development.
