Develop a “Report Phishing” Button for Gmail / Google Workspace

I'm looking for an experienced Google Workspace developer to build a “Report Phishing” add-on for Gmail / Google Workspace.

The goal is to allow users to report suspicious emails directly from the Gmail interface to our platform/API with a simple and user-friendly flow.

Key Requirements

Development of a “Report Phishing” button / Gmail add-on integrated into the Gmail interface.

The add-on must work for Google Workspace (Gmail) users.

The solution must be designed to be published in the Google Workspace Marketplace, so Google Workspace administrators can install and deploy it from their admin console.

Main Workflow

When a user clicks Report Phishing, the add-on should:

Analyze the email and determine whether it is:

one of our own phishing simulations, or

a real/suspicious external email.

If the email is one of our phishing simulations:

our simulated emails contain a unique identifier / pattern (for example, a special header, token, regex match, or tracking parameter);

the add-on must call our API/server to register that the user correctly reported the simulation;

after that, the email should be removed from the user’s inbox or otherwise handled according to Gmail permissions and best practices.

If the email is not one of our simulations:

the email could be legitimate, spam, or a real phishing attempt;

the add-on must send the relevant email content/metadata to our API/admin console for review;

after reporting, the email should be removed from the inbox or otherwise processed according to the allowed Gmail add-on capabilities.

User Experience

A confirmation pop-up / card / notification should appear after the user reports the email.

Optionally, the add-on can allow the user to add extra comments or details before submitting the report.

The interface should be simple, fast, and clear for non-technical end users.

Technical Requirements

Integration with our external API.

Secure handling of authentication, permissions, and email data.

Clean and maintainable code.

Proper error handling and user-friendly feedback messages.

Assistance with deployment, testing, and publication in Google Workspace Marketplace.

Deliverables

Fully functional Gmail / Google Workspace add-on.

Source code and technical documentation.

Installation/deployment guide.

Support for publication in the Google Workspace Marketplace.

Basic post-delivery support for bug fixes during launch/testing.

Ideal Skills

Strong experience with Google Workspace add-ons / Gmail add-on development.

Experience with Google Apps Script and/or Google Workspace add-ons via HTTP backend.

Experience integrating with REST APIs.

Experience with Google Workspace Marketplace publication.

Experience with email security / anti-phishing tools is a big plus.
