Custom Retail POS System

I run a brick-and-mortar retail store and I’m ready to replace our dated cash register with a purpose-built POS solution. The system has to feel as quick and intuitive as an app, yet be robust enough to grow with my inventory and customer base.

What I need at the core is:
• Real-time inventory management that automatically updates stock levels as items are sold or returned
• Comprehensive sales reporting with daily, weekly, and monthly breakdowns exportable to Excel/CSV
• A light customer-management module that tracks purchase history and basic loyalty information

On top of those essentials, smooth integration is critical. The POS must:
• Post sales and expenses straight into my accounting software (we currently use QuickBooks but are open to similar tools)
• Sync products and orders with our e-commerce platform so in-store and online stock stay aligned
• Push customer data to the CRM we already rely on (HubSpot) for unified marketing efforts

I’m flexible on the tech stack—cloud-based, desktop with offline mode, or a hybrid approach—as long as it’s secure and comes with clear admin documentation. Please include in your proposal the framework you recommend, a realistic timeline with milestones, and examples of similar retail systems you’ve delivered.
