Warehouse Management System (WMS) – Full-Scale Development - 01/02/2026 15:11 EST
Budget: $3,000 – $5,000 USD
We are looking for experienced developers to work on a custom Warehouse Management System (WMS) designed for USA-based 3PL (Third-Party Logistics) warehouse operations.
This is not a basic inventory app.
It is a real operational WMS, inspired by platforms like ShipHero, built to manage inventory, orders, warehouse workflows, clients, and marketplace integrations.
The system will be used internally and later sold as a SaaS / white-label product to 3PL warehouse owners.
Why We Are Building This WMS
Existing WMS solutions are:
Very expensive
Over-complicated
Hard to customize
Difficult to white-label
We want a system that is:
Accurate and operationally strong
Simple for warehouse staff
Scalable for multiple clients
Sellable to 3PL businesses
Ready for integrations and white-labeling
Target Users of the System
The WMS will support three user types:
1. Warehouse Admin / Owner
Full system access
Manage warehouses, clients, users
Reports and analytics
Integration and system settings
2. Warehouse Staff
Receiving inventory
Picking and packing orders
Task-based access only
No admin or client data access
3. 3PL Clients (Brands / Sellers)
Separate client portal
View their own inventory and orders
Track fulfillment status
Create inbound shipments (limited)
Download reports
Core Features Required
Inventory Management
SKU-based inventory tracking
Available, reserved, allocated stock
Warehouse/location-based inventory
Inventory movement history
Full audit logs
Receiving (Inbound)
Inbound shipment creation
Expected vs received quantity tracking
Variance handling
Staff-friendly receiving screens
Orders (Outbound)
Order listing and filtering
Picking and packing workflows
Order status tracking
Error prevention (wrong SKU / quantity)
Client Portal
Role-based access
Strict data isolation per client
Inventory visibility
Order tracking
Reports and summaries
Marketplace Integrations (Important)
The system must support future marketplace integrations, including:
Amazon
eBay
Walmart
Shopify
Integration requirements:
Secure authentication (OAuth where applicable)
API token handling
Webhooks
Order and inventory sync
Error handling and retry logic
Multi-client isolation (each client connects their own store)
White-Labeling Requirement
The WMS must be white-label ready, including:
Client-specific branding (logo, colors)
Custom domain or subdomain support
Feature toggles per client
White-labeled client portals
This is essential because the software will be sold to other 3PL warehouses.
Tech Stack Preference
Backend: Laravel
Frontend: Blade + Livewire
Database: Relational (multi-tenant aware)
Architecture: SaaS-ready, scalable, secure
