Development of Centralized VLTD, PIS & Contract Management System for Contract Buses
Budget: ₹12,500 – ₹37,500 INR
Project Description:
We are seeking an experienced software development team or individual to build a centralized web-based platform for managing Vehicle Location Tracking Devices (VLTD), Passenger Information System (PIS), and Contract Management for contract buses operated under per-KM payment agreements.
The system will be used Transit Authority to track daily operations of buses, calculate payment to contractors based on kilometers run, and disseminate live passenger information through PIS infrastructure.
Key Objectives:
Real-time GPS tracking (AIS-140 compliant devices).
Passenger Information System integration for live display and announcements.
Automated contract payment management based on KM logged.
Role-based access and approval workflows.
Comprehensive reporting and analytics.
Deliverables:
Web-based Central Application (Admin + Operator Interface)
API Integration with AIS-140 GPS Devices
API Integration with PIS Display Systems (if applicable)
Mobile-Friendly Dashboard (Optional but preferred)
Documentation: BRD, FRS, API Docs, Deployment Guide
1-Month Bug Fixing Support Post UAT
System Modules & Features:
1. VLTD (Vehicle Location Tracking)
Real-time tracking of contract buses via AIS-140 devices
Live map interface with filters (route, depot, operator, etc.)
Daily trip logs with route adherence reports
Alerts for route deviation, idle time, GPS signal loss
Historical trip playback
Geofencing support for depots & terminals
2. PIS (Passenger Information System)
Real-time Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA) at stops
Onboard and depot-level integration (LED, audio)
CMS for message control (alerts, route, ads)
Multilingual text & audio support
PIS hardware simulation or test API environment (if display integration is not feasible)
3. Contract Management
Contract database: bus-wise, operator-wise, route-wise with rate/km
Auto-fetch KM from VLTD for daily reconciliation
Payment computation: KM × rate – deductions
Penalty computation (missed trip, late start, GPS offline)
Invoice generation, admin approval, and downloadable reports
Operator login for data access and invoice review
User Roles:
Admin: Contract creation, trip monitoring, approvals
Depot Manager: Trip verification, incident logging
Operator: Dashboard access, payment viewing
Finance Team: Invoice approval & summary generation
Integrations Required:
AIS-140 GPS tracking device data API
PIS display system API or communication protocol
SMS / Email API (for alerts & reports)
Financial system export (Excel or JSON format for payment integration)
Reporting:
Daily/weekly/monthly KM run per vehicle/operator
Underperformance & compliance reports
Route-wise and operator-wise analytics
Penalty summary
Payment summary & approval status
Technical Expectations:
Technology stack: Open to recommendation (Preferred: Node.js, Python, PHP + MySQL/PostgreSQL)
Web-based responsive UI (admin and operator panels)
Scalable microservices or modular architecture preferred
Secure authentication & audit logs
API-first development for external use
Timeline:
Proposal Submission Deadline: in next 2-3 days
Development Duration: 60 days max (UAT within 75 days)
Bid Submission Requirements:
Please include the following in your proposal:
Company/Developer Profile with experience in similar systems
Tech stack and architecture suggestion
Milestone-wise timeline
Cost estimate
Past experience with VLTD, AVLS, Transport, or PIS projects (if any)
Live demo/links of similar work (if available)
Communication:
Preferred through platform messaging. Weekly updates mandatory.
Confidentiality:
All data, ideas, and business logic shared are confidential and under NDA.
