Travel Insurance Portal Backend Development

I already have a clean, responsive front-end for my travel-insurance booking site; now I need the complete engine behind it. Your job is to architect and code the full back-end layer, expose well-structured REST APIs, and wire everything to Indian payment gateways.

Core scope
• Build the entire server-side infrastructure — database schema, business logic and API endpoints — so that users can browse plans, generate quotes, buy a policy and download documents.

• Create an admin module view transactions and run simple reports.

• Integrate payment gateway(s) and complete payment in INR. Successful and failed callbacks must be handled and logged.
• Provide clear API docs and postman collection so the existing UI (or any revised React/Angular/Vue layer) can consume every endpoint without guesswork.
• Assist with deployment to my cloud account and deliver a short hand-off session.

Acceptance criteria
1. End-to-end purchase flow completes on Razorpay, Cashfree and Paytm in sandbox and live modes.
2. JWT-based login and role permissions verified.
3. Policy data persists correctly and is retrievable via API.
4. Codebase passes my basic security scan (OWASP top-10 checks) and includes readme + setup script.

Tech stack is flexible: I’m comfortable with Node.js, Python (Django/FastAPI) or Java Spring Boot, provided the solution is modular, well-documented and easy to maintain. Let me know which one you prefer and why.
