Student QR Attendance System
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I am building a complete entry-and-exit tracker that runs both on a desktop workstation and on companion Android and iOS apps. Every student will be issued a unique, system-generated QR code carrying their ID, name, and grade. When the code is scanned the first time it registers a check-in; the second scan logs the check-out. If a student leaves early, the scanner must prompt for the guardian’s name and validate it against an authorised list before the exit is saved.
The desktop dashboard should show, in real time, who is on campus, who arrived late, and any early departures. I also need one formal user role—Admin—with a full audit trail of everything the role does. The architecture must work fully offline and then sync automatically as soon as a connection is available.
Reports are essential. From the Admin panel I have to be able to export:
• an attendance summary,
• detailed entry/exit logs, and
• the guardian contact record attached to each early exit,
all in both Excel and PDF formats.
Core requirements
• Automatic QR generation and printing/preview.
• Cross-platform mobile scanning apps (Android & iOS).
• Desktop control centre for monitoring, role management, and reporting.
• Secure local datastore with background cloud synchronisation.
• Immutable audit log.
Deliverables
1. Desktop installer and source.
2. Android .apk and iOS TestFlight build (with source).
3. Database schema and API documentation.
4. Deployment and user guides.
I will test the solution by running it without an internet connection, scanning multiple students in and out, performing an early exit, and then syncing to the cloud to confirm that the dashboard and exported reports reflect every action accurately.
