ShipEngine Address Validation and Cleanup

Job ID: 39842747

Budget: £250 – £750 GBP

Statement of Work (SOW): ShipEngine Address Validation Remediation

This Statement of Work outlines the objectives, scope, and deliverables for correcting and validating a supplied list of shipping addresses to meet the stringent standards of the ShipEngine (ShipStation) Address Validation API. The goal is to ensure all addresses in the provided database pass validation with a "Verified" status, minimizing future shipping delays, failed deliveries, and carrier surcharges. The contractor must possess demonstrated experience working directly with the ShipStation/ShipEngine API, particularly with address validation endpoints.

The scope of work encompasses receiving the provided spreadsheet of failing addresses, systematically processing each entry against the ShipEngine validation endpoint (POST /v1/addresses/validate), identifying the specific error messages (e.g., street name issues, postal code errors, missing sub-locality data), and applying necessary cleansing logic. Since the addresses primarily reside in international territories (Colombia, Venezuela, Bahrain, etc.), the contractor must apply expert knowledge of foreign address formats, including local postal code systems (CEP in Brazil, the block system in Bahrain), street syntax (Carrera, Calle Oeste), and mandatory administrative divisions (Departments/Governorates). The contractor is expected to utilize their own tools or scripting environment to manage this iterative validation and correction process. Also note that Only 2 address lines are available for use, not 3.

The final deliverable will be a single, updated spreadsheet containing the original addresses alongside the successfully validated and corrected addresses. This spreadsheet must include the new, standardized address lines, the confirmed local postal code, the validation status ("Verified"), and any relevant cleansing messages returned by the ShipEngine API. Upon completion, the contractor must securely delete the provided ShipStation API key and any interim data containing original or unvalidated customer addresses.
