Senior Node.js Developer for Finance Web App

We are building a financial web application designed for portfolio tracking. The platform will allow users to:

Track investments across multiple asset classes (stocks, crypto, ETFs, etc.)

Monitor portfolio performance in real time

View analytics, insights, and historical data

Integrate with third-party APIs for live market data

The project is in the development & deployment phase, and we need a senior Node.js developer who can lead the backend development, manage cloud deployment, and ensure ongoing stability and scalability.

Responsibilities:

Backend Development:

Build and maintain scalable backend services using Node.js (Express/Nest.js).

Design and implement RESTful APIs and/or GraphQL for data handling.

Integrate financial data providers and third-party APIs.

Implement real-time features (e.g., live price updates, notifications).

Database & Data Management:

Design efficient schemas for financial data (PostgreSQL/MongoDB).

Implement caching and optimization for fast performance.

Security & Compliance:

Apply security best practices to protect sensitive financial data.

Manage authentication, authorization, and encryption.

Deployment & Cloud Management:

Set up CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment.

Deploy the application on AWS, GCP, or Azure.

Configure monitoring, logging, and alerts for system reliability.

Ensure application scalability and high availability.

Ongoing Maintenance:

Monitor performance and troubleshoot issues.

Optimize backend performance as the user base grows.

Support frontend team for seamless integration with the backend.

Requirements:

5+ years of experience in Node.js backend development.

Strong expertise in API design, microservices, and real-time applications.

Solid understanding of databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or MySQL).

Proven experience with cloud deployment (AWS/GCP/Azure).

Knowledge of DevOps practices (CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes).

Background in financial/fintech apps is highly preferred.

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.

Nice to Have:

Experience with financial portfolio tracking systems or similar apps.

Familiarity with data visualization dashboards.

Knowledge of compliance/security standards in fintech.
