Logistics Portal Developer (FedEx API, Stripe, AfterShip)
Title: Build a Logistics Portal (FedEx API + Stripe + AfterShip Integration)
Description:
We are a Singapore-based logistics service provider launching a shipping and tracking portal for SMEs and e-commerce sellers.
The platform will integrate with FedEx APIs (Rates, Ship, Pickup, Track, Documents), Stripe/PayNow, and AfterShip (Phase 1 for branded tracking). In the longer term, we plan to replace AfterShip with our own tracking microservice for better scalability and cost control. along with more APIs for international and local couriers
We are seeking either:
An experienced developer (backend + frontend), or
A corporate development partner/team that can deliver the portal MVP
Scope of Work
FedEx API Integration
Rates, Ship (labels), Pickup, Track, Documents.
Handle API tokens, retries, error handling.
Payment Integration
Stripe (cards) + PayNow support.
Refunds, reconciliation, idempotent flows.
Merchant Portal (React/Vue)
New Shipment form (addresses, parcel dims, rates, insurance).
Dashboard with shipments list, invoices, tracking links.
Checkout with insurance upsell.
Admin Portal
Shipment monitoring (exceptions, SLA breaches).
Billing & reconciliation (buy vs sell vs fees).
Insurance claim tracker.
Tracking & Notifications
Phase 1: Push tracking ID to AfterShip (hosted branded page, notifications).
Phase 2: Internal tracking microservice (event normalization, branded page, SMS/email alerts).
Infrastructure & Security
PostgreSQL DB schema, Redis queues, S3 for labels/docs.
AWS deployment (RDS, ECS/Lightsail, CloudFront).
JWT authentication, audit logs, PDPA compliance.
Requirements
Proven experience building logistics/e-commerce platforms or API-driven SaaS.
Strong in Laravel (PHP) or NestJS (Node.js) + PostgreSQL.
Experience with FedEx/DHL/UPS APIs (or similar shipping APIs).
Familiarity with Stripe, AfterShip, AWS.
Able to deliver production-grade code (scalable, secure, tested).
Deliverables
Fully working portal MVP within 8–10 weeks.
Documentation (API endpoints, DB schema, setup guides).
Handover for future in-house or external dev teams.
Optional: Support Phase 2 build (tracking microservice).
Engagement Model
Agencies/Corporate Teams: Retainer or fixed-scope project.
Open to long-term collaboration for Phase 2 & ongoing enhancements.
