I’m leading a small team that is rebuilding a ride-sharing style platform and we want a seasoned engineer who has actually scaled apps like Uber, Lyft or on-demand delivery services to steer us through a short, high-impact mentorship engagement. Our biggest pain point is overall platform performance and I need your eyes on both the frontend and the backend so we can tighten response times, smooth out spikes in traffic and keep error rates negligible.

Here’s what I have in mind. First, you’ll review our current architecture and deployment topology, then sit with us (remote sessions are fine) to pinpoint the bottlenecks that are holding the entire real-time flow back—from the moment a rider requests a trip to the instant a driver accepts. Once the priorities are clear, we’ll walk through code-level and infrastructure-level optimisations, covering everything from API gateways, websockets and event queues to client rendering and caching strategies. I’m looking for practical guidance backed by war-stories, not just theory: show us what you’ve tried, what failed and why a particular pattern finally worked in production.

By the end of the engagement I expect:
