REST API for Data Retrieval
Budget: ₹12,500 – ₹37,500 INR
I’m building a new system that will expose data-retrieval endpoints and need a developer who can architect, code, and document a clean REST API from scratch. The service will be read-only for now—its sole responsibility is to accept requests, query the underlying data store, and return well-structured JSON responses with minimal latency.
Here’s how I see the engagement:
• Scope
– Design the endpoint structure, query parameters, and error-handling scheme.
– Implement the API using a mainstream framework you’re comfortable with (Express, FastAPI, Laravel, Spring Boot—your call, as long as it’s maintainable).
– Connect to an existing relational database; I’ll provide schema details and sample data.
– Add pagination, basic rate limiting, CORS configuration, and concise logging.
• Deliverables
– Source code in a private Git repo.
– Postman (or similar) collection covering every route.
– OpenAPI/Swagger spec for self-service onboarding.
– Brief deployment guide for a Linux server (Docker welcome).
– A short hand-off call or video walkthrough once everything is running.
• Acceptance criteria
– All endpoints return the correct payload in under 300 ms on local tests.
– Unit and integration tests achieve at least 90 % coverage.
– No critical issues flagged by static analysis or security linters.
