Optimize Taxi & Delivery System by Implementing Hybrid Google Maps Caching Layer
Budget: $750 – $1,500 USD
Project Description:
We have a complete Taxi & Delivery platform developed in PHP + MySQL, with Android and iOS apps. The system currently relies heavily on Google Maps APIs (Places, Geocoding, Directions, Distance Matrix, etc.) for real-time location data.
Due to high API usage costs and occasional latency, we want to optimize performance and reduce API calls by implementing a Hybrid Cache-Based Maps Optimization layer.
The goal is to cache frequently used map, routing, and geocoding results locally to:
- Improve app response time.
- Reduce Google Maps API usage and monthly cost.
- Maintain full legal compliance with Google’s API policies.
Expected Tasks:
1- Review our current PHP/MySQL system and mobile app integration with Google APIs.
2- Implement a caching and proxy layer to serve frequent map data locally.
3- Configure periodic sync/update for cached data to stay accurate.
4- Integrate the new caching layer with existing app endpoints seamlessly.
5- Test and deploy the optimized setup on our live server.
Technical Stack:
Backend: PHP + MySQL
Mobile: Android (Java/Kotlin) & iOS (Swift)
APIs: Google Maps Platform (Places, Directions, Distance Matrix)
Cache Layer: Redis / Node.js / Python-based proxy (as recommended by developer)
Timeline & Budget:
Completion within 2–4 weeks.
Fixed budget (please quote your best offer).
Notes:
A- We are not replacing Google Maps or hosting it locally.
B- The system must comply with Google’s API Terms of Service while reducing dependency and improving speed.
We’re looking for an experienced developer or company with proven expertise in:
1- Google Maps API integrations
2- Caching systems or proxy optimization
3- Taxi or delivery platform backends
