LAN Device Monitoring Dashboard
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I want a lightweight LAN-based application that continuously watches the key hardware on our network—currently cameras, routers and switches—and presents everything on a single web dashboard. The core of the job is to let me:
• Add, edit or remove a device record at any time, storing its name, type, location and the performance metrics we care about (uptime, downtime, latency).
• Set per-device or global thresholds for those metrics.
• Trigger real-time alerts the moment a limit is exceeded and push them out by Email, SMS and WhatsApp.
• View a concise summary panel that groups devices by category and highlights anything in warning or critical state.
Everything needs to run locally inside the LAN while still being able to hit the chosen mail/SMS/WhatsApp gateways for notifications. A small database to persist device details and historical stats is expected; any modern stack you are comfortable with is fine as long as it’s easy for me to deploy on a Windows or Linux host.
Deliverables:
1. Source code (clearly commented) and a one-step build/script.
2. SQL (or equivalent) schema.
3. Installation and configuration guide, including how to hook up the Email, SMS and WhatsApp integrations.
4. Final demo showing the dashboard in action with sample devices, thresholds and live alerts proving everything works end-to-end.
Once this foundation is stable I will expand it to include printers, access points and any future network gear, so clean modular code will be appreciated.
