Java User Data API

The project involves building a robust Java backend that exposes secure, well-documented APIs dedicated to handling user data. The service will receive, create, update, and delete user records, while enforcing authentication and validation at every endpoint.

Technology stack is expected to center on modern Java (17 preferred), Spring Boot, and a relational database such as PostgreSQL or MySQL. OpenAPI / Swagger docs should be auto-generated, and the code base must be container-ready via Docker for straightforward deployment into our CI/CD pipeline.

Key deliverables
• Source code with clear package structure, unit & integration tests
• REST endpoints for CRUD operations on user profiles, including pagination and search
• JWT-based authentication and role-based authorization
• Database schema (DDL) and migration scripts
• Swagger/OpenAPI 3.0 specification and a brief README outlining build/run instructions

Acceptance criteria
• All endpoints return the correct HTTP status codes and JSON response bodies as defined in the OpenAPI spec
• Test coverage ≥ 80 % with passing builds on our GitHub Actions workflow
• No critical or high vulnerabilities reported by OWASP Dependency-Check
