I’m building a horse-racing platform and need a purpose-built API that lets my application place Win, Place, and Show bets while constantly pulling real-time odds from the track feed.

• Expose secure, well-documented endpoints for creating tickets and settling Win, Place, and Show wagers.
• Ingest and refresh live odds with minimal latency; historical data isn’t required at this stage.
• Return clear, structured JSON so the front-end team can display changing prices instantly.
• Include lightweight authentication and rate-limit controls so the service can scale once we go public.
Acceptance criteria
1. Endpoints compiled in Swagger / OpenAPI.
2. Odds refresh proven at sub-second intervals in a short demo script.
3. Sample calls for each bet type that execute successfully against a sandbox.
4. Deployment guide for a Linux server (Docker or bare metal, your choice) plus concise README.
Language and framework are flexible—Python (FastAPI), Node (Express), or something comparable are all fine as long as the code is clean and unit-tested. If you’ve integrated racing feeds before, let me know in your bid along with a quick outline of your approach and timeline.
