Stripe-Powered Escrow SaaS Platform with Milestone-Based Payouts

Overview
I am looking to hire a developer (or small team) to build a SaaS platform and then app that enables customers to pay
contractors via milestone-based and deliverables based escrow, with funds securely held until work is approved and then released
via Stripe Instant Payouts.

This project requires full backend and frontend development - with an initial focus on a web-first MVP,
followed by optional mobile app support.
Platform Goals
- Customers can fund a project upfront via Stripe.
- Funds are held in escrow until milestones are approved.
- Milestones define phases of a project.
- Milestone approval triggers payout.
- Contractors receive same-day payouts via Stripe Instant Payouts.
- Optional admin dashboard for project review.
Tech Stack Preference
Preferred tools (open to suggestions):
- Backend: Node.js + Express
- Payments: Stripe Connect Express
- Database: SQLite (dev), PostgreSQL (prod)
- Frontend: HTML/CSS or React
- Hosting: Render, Railway, or Vercel
- Auth: Magic link (or Clerk/Auth0)
- Design: Mockups or collaborative
Scope of Work
Phase 1: Backend API & Payments
- Customer creates project and submits payment via Stripe (manual capture)
- Stripe Connect onboarding for contractors
- Milestone approval triggers fund release and payout

- Webhooks for Stripe events

Phase 2: Frontend
- Customer and contractor dashboards
- Optional admin view

Phase 3: Testing & Deployment
- Test users, seeded data, deployed MVP

This is just the customer engagement utility piece.  We are also needing to develop the subscription method for vendors, the levels and permissions of subscription, the autonomous engagements between project owner and vendor with deliverables and signatory requirements for the projects and individual vendor subscribed landing descriptor pages
