Fix Java Desktop API Defects

Job ID: 40053739

Budget: ₹600 – ₹1,500 INR

I’m maintaining a Java-based desktop application that has started misbehaving whenever it talks to our external services. The UI remains solid, but the API integration layer throws errors or returns bad data, so key features no longer function as intended. I need a Java developer who can dive into the code, isolate the root of these functionality issues, and implement reliable fixes without disturbing other parts of the app.

The project is built with Java 11 and Maven, relies on java.net.http (HTTPClient) for requests, and uses Jackson for JSON parsing. You’ll work in our Git repo; I’ll give you a dedicated branch plus staging-server credentials so you can reproduce the problems quickly.

Deliverables
• Corrected source code with clear comments
• Unit or integration tests that first reproduce, then confirm the fixes
• A concise change log describing what you touched and why

Acceptance criteria: every API call in the desktop build completes without exceptions, returns the expected payloads, and all provided tests pass. Share a brief note on similar fixes you’ve handled and your estimated turnaround time, and we can get started right away.
