Finalize ScanMyPetNow Platform

ScanMyPetNow is already live on Netlify, written in vanilla HTML, CSS and JavaScript with Netlify Functions driving the serverless backend. I now need the last pieces put in place so the service can accept real users and payments and move confidently into production.

Your first focus will be the production backend. Database integration is only half-wired at the moment, our API layer needs polish, and I’m uncertain whether the current token-based authentication is robust enough—please assess it and strengthen or redesign as you see fit while keeping disruption minimal.

Next comes PayPal. The site has to support payment processing, subscription management and refund handling through the PayPal REST/JS SDK plus webhooks, all wired into the existing UI flow.

Once those items are complete I want a final QA pass (functional, security and cross-device) and a smooth push to the live domain on the same Netlify account—no rebuilds or framework swaps, just solid, production-ready code inside the current stack.

• Fully working database connection and migrations
• Polished API endpoints with accompanying tests
• Audited (and if needed, improved) authentication flow
• PayPal integration covering payments, subscriptions and refunds
• QA report and successful production deployment

Acceptance is met when automated/manual tests pass, PayPal sandbox and live calls succeed in all three flows, and no regressions appear on the front-end.
