Enterprise Management API Design
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I am building a full-scale, enterprise-grade business management platform in the Software/IT space and need an API architecture that can grow with a rapidly expanding user base. The initial rollout must cover a robust CRM module first, then seamlessly branch into service & product catalogues, inventory, scheduling/appointments, project tracking, contract handling and marketing functions.
Scalability, fault-tolerance and clean separation of concerns matter more to me than any single language or framework. I do, however, need both user authentication and granular role-based access control baked into the foundation from day one, so the security model should not be an afterthought.
If you have a proven track record designing and implementing microservice or modular monolith APIs—REST or GraphQL—please outline how you would:
• Map the domain into manageable services/modules
• Ensure horizontal scaling and high availability (e.g., container orchestration, caching, load balancing)
• Apply authentication (JWT, OAuth, or similar) alongside fine-grained RBAC
• Deliver clear, developer-friendly documentation (OpenAPI/Swagger) and automated testing
Acceptance criteria will include a working proof-of-concept for the business management endpoints, comprehensive API docs, and a deployment blueprint that demonstrates scalability and stability.
