Django Truck Booking Platform
Budget: ₹100 – ₹400 INR
I’m building an e-commerce style truck-booking web application and need someone who already has solid, real-world Django web application development experience. The goal is to let shippers browse available trucks, get live quotes, and confirm a booking in a streamlined checkout flow—think of it as a specialised e-commerce platform geared toward logistics rather than traditional products.
Core scope
• Build the full Django project, including models, views, templates, and admin for a truck-booking workflow.
• Implement a user-friendly authentication system so shippers and carriers each manage their own dashboards.
• Design a searchable “catalog” of trucks/routes with filters for size, origin, destination, and availability.
• Create a cart-like booking process that culminates in a secure checkout (initially cash-on-delivery or offline payment; payment-gateway hooks should be ready for future expansion).
• Provide clean, well-documented code plus a short README for local setup and deployment.
Tech notes
The backend must be pure Django (no CMS layers). A lightweight, responsive front-end built with Django templates, HTMX, or React (if you prefer) is fine so long as it integrates smoothly. Use PostgreSQL in development; I’ll host on a managed Postgres service in production.
Acceptance criteria
1. A working local build (pip install / docker compose) that starts without errors.
2. End-to-end booking flow fully testable from user sign-up to booking confirmation record in admin.
3. Codebase passes flake8 and black formatting with no critical linting issues.
4. README includes setup, environment variables, and deployment instructions.
If you have recently delivered Django e-commerce or logistics solutions and can point me to code samples or live demos, that’s exactly the experience this project calls for.
