I want to create a brand-new system that streamlines how my organisation stores, organises, and retrieves data. Right now the information sits in disparate spreadsheets and ad-hoc files; I need a single, dependable source of truth that can scale as our records grow.
Scope
• Analyse our current data sources and identify the best migration path.
• Design a relational or NoSQL database schema that supports quick search, reporting, and future expansion.
• Build the core back-end service (API or direct queries—open to your recommendation) that handles data ingestion, validation, and controlled access.
• Provide a lightweight front-end or dashboard so non-technical staff can upload, edit, and export records without touching raw tables.
• Document the architecture, setup steps, and day-to-day operating guide.
Key goals
– Integrity: automatic checks to prevent duplicates or bad formats.
– Security: role-based permissions, audit logs, and encrypted connections.
– Performance: responsive queries even as the dataset grows.
– Future-proofing: modules or micro-services that allow us to bolt on analytics later.
Deliverables
1. Working codebase stored in our private Git repository.
2. Database dump and migration scripts.
3. README and technical documentation.
4. Brief video or live walkthrough demonstrating core functions.
Stack flexibility
I’m comfortable with common combinations such as Python + PostgreSQL, Node.js + MongoDB, or another stack you can justify. Suggest what you know best and explain why it suits our data requirements.
