Custom Shopify SEO Automation Tool
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I am seeking an experienced Shopify developer to build a private custom app for our Shopify store that automates key SEO and content management workflows.
The app will connect to our Shopify Admin API to enhance product metadata, generate collections, create blog content, and streamline related administrative tasks.
This is an MVP build with potential for ongoing development. The focus is on creating a reliable, well-structured backend with a simple admin interface to trigger and review automated actions.
Core Responsibilities
Develop a private Shopify app (not public App Store) with secure authentication.
Integrate with Shopify Admin API (products, collections, blogs, redirects).
Build a minimal admin dashboard to:
Run batch operations on product data.
Create and manage collections programmatically.
Draft blog posts with internal linking.
Manage redirects/404 clean-up.
Implement batch job handling with progress tracking and error logging.
Ensure database logging of changes for audit and rollback.
Deploy to a cost-efficient hosting environment (e.g., Vercel, Render).
Follow provided API specs and endpoint contracts.
Requirements
Technical Skills:
Proven experience building Shopify apps (private or public).
Proficient with Shopify Admin API (REST and/or GraphQL).
Strong backend skills in Node.js (Express, Next.js API routes, or similar).
Solid frontend skills in React/Next.js for admin UI.
Familiarity with relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL/SQLite).
Knowledge of batch processing, job queues, and error handling.
Experience with API integrations and data validation.
Nice to Have:
TypeScript experience.
Familiarity with deploying apps on Vercel, Render, or similar.
Understanding of SEO best practices (title/meta limits, alt text, etc.).
Deliverables for MVP
Without revealing proprietary logic, the MVP will include:
Secure login for authorized admin users.
Product metadata management module.
Automated collection creation module.
Blog draft generation module with product/collection linking.
Redirect/404 management module.
Audit logs and rollback functionality.
