Custom Inventory Tracking System
Budget: $15 – $25 USD
Right now every sale and restock is still being noted by hand in paper ledgers. It works, but only just—I lose time hunting for numbers and there is no simple way to see what is really moving. I’m ready to leave the manual era behind and move to a digital workflow, yet I don’t want another generic subscription. What I’m after is a tailor-made inventory application that matches the way my business actually runs.
Here’s what I need:
• A fully custom solution that lets me enter stock coming in, record items going out and immediately shows current levels.
• Simple, uncluttered screens so staff with zero technical background can use it after a short walkthrough.
• Searchable history of every transaction, with printable or downloadable reports (PDF/CSV) for daily, weekly and monthly totals.
• Role-based access so I can keep adjustments restricted to authorised users.
• A clean path for migrating the figures that currently live in my notebooks—ideally by importing a basic spreadsheet.
• The option to host on my own PC or a small cloud instance; you can recommend the stack (for example Python-Django, Node-Express, PHP-Laravel, etc.) as long as it is well-documented and future-proof.
My expectation is:
1. A short discovery session where you map my workflow.
2. A clickable prototype so I can confirm the layout.
3. The finished, tested application with setup instructions and a 1-page quick-start guide for my staff.
I am open to suggestions on tech, UX improvements and long-term scalability. If you have built something similar—or if you can clearly explain how you will—then I’d love to hear how you plan to turn my paper records into a responsive, reliable system.
