Cross-Platform C# Network Monitor
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I need a seasoned C# engineer to take full ownership of a new cross-platform network monitoring and analysis tool. The goal is to ship the same feature set and UX on Windows, Linux, and macOS, so please be comfortable working with .NET 6/7, cross-platform UI frameworks, and low-level networking APIs.
Core requirements
• Build a desktop-grade network application whose primary purpose is real-time monitoring and deep-dive analysis of local network traffic.
• Deliver fully functional executables for Windows, Linux, and macOS.
• Provide clean, well-commented source code and a straightforward build script or instructions.
• Include automated tests that cover key packet-capture, parsing, and reporting routines.
• Document every public class/method and supply a concise user guide that explains installation, basic usage, and log locations.
I already have wireframes and a list of must-track metrics (latency, throughput, protocol distribution) that I will share once we agree on scope. You’re free to suggest the most efficient libraries (pcap, SharpPcap, etc.) as long as the final solution remains 100 % managed-code and cross-platform.
