API Development to Build and Integrate Hainfort Assessment Platform with Leading ATS Systems (from Scratch)

I propose to design and develop a full API infrastructure from scratch for the Hainfort Assessment Platform to enable secure, scalable, and extensible integration with the Top 10 Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), including: iCIMS, SmartRecruiters, Workable, Greenhouse, Lever, Bullhorn, Workday, Recruitee, SAP SuccessFactors, and Teamtailor.
This foundation will support two-way data synchronization, real-time assessment handling, and will be built with extensibility in mind—allowing for the future onboarding of additional ATS platforms, new types of assessments, and partner assessment tools as Hainfort evolves.
Scope of Work
1. API Infrastructure Design & Development (From Scratch)
- Architect and implement a modular RESTful API system, fully decoupled from UI.
- Support core capabilities: candidate intake, assessment creation, results retrieval, webhook triggers, and pipeline status updates.
- Design system for multi-tenant environments and version control (e.g., /v1, /v2).
2. Data Flow and Synchronization
- Inbound Sync (ATS → Hainfort)
- Intake of job requisitions and candidate profiles to auto-initiate tailored assessments.
- Outbound Sync (Hainfort → ATS)
- Push assessment results, completion status, scores, and reports to ATS for recruiter action.
3. Scalability & Extensibility
Build a flexible framework to:
- Onboard new types of assessments without needing major refactoring.
- Connect with external partner platforms (e.g., coding tests, behavioral tools).
- Add new ATS integrations as Hainfort expands its customer base—requiring only lightweight adapter modules instead of core system changes.
Example: If a new ATS such as Jobvite or Breezy HR is adopted, integration will follow a plug-and-play approach using the defined adapter interface.
4. Security & Compliance
- Secure API access using Bearer tokens and OAuth2 protocols.
- Adhere to GDPR, CCPA, and HIPAA-like protections for candidate and recruiter data.
- Use TLS encryption for data in transit and AES-256 encryption for data at rest.
5. Error Handling, Monitoring, and Rate Management
- Built-in error response patterns (e.g., 400, 403, 429, 500), with retry/backoff logic.
- Rate-limiting mechanisms to conform with Hainfort and ATS API constraints.
- Setup of logging, API usage dashboards, and alerting systems.
6. Initial ATS Integrations
- Develop and test custom connector modules for the following 10 ATS:
- iCIMS, SmartRecruiters, Workable, Greenhouse, Lever, Bullhorn, Workday, Recruitee, SAP SuccessFactors, Teamtailor
- Customize request/response formatting, authentication, and webhook handling for each.
7. Future ATS Expansion Plan

- Document all processes to empower internal Hainfort teams to add new connectors independently over time.
