Onsite Linux EXT4 Mount Repair
Budget: $250 – $750 AUD
My production server in Melbourne, VIC refuses to boot and mount one of its EXT4 volumes that holds critical web-server data. I need an experienced Linux sysadmin who can come onsite ASAP, diagnose the mounting failure, recover the volume without data loss and make it reliably mount at boot again.
The box is running a recent Centos-based distro and is still fully accessible via console, but remote work is not an option; physical access is required so you can run low-level tools like fsck, tune2fs, debugfs or alternative recovery utilities.
What I expect from you:
• Arrive onsite (Brunswick West) at an agreed time.
• Troubleshoot and repair the EXT4 mount issue, documenting each command and change.
• Verify the integrity of the web-server data once the filesystem is online.
• Ensure the volume auto-mounts cleanly after at least two reboot tests.
• Provide a brief post-visit report summarising findings, actions taken, and any preventative steps I should schedule.
If additional spare drives or backup procedures are advisable, flag them during the session so I can plan follow-up work. Looking forward to getting the site back on its feet quickly and safely.
