Dockerise Three Legacy WordPress Sites

Job ID: 40501485

Budget: $30 – $250 USD

I need to move three ageing WordPress installations from an equally old LAMP shared-hosting account at Simply.com into a modern Docker environment on my new VPS running Debian Trixie. The main drivers are cost savings and a sizeable bump in security, so the finished setup must be lean, hardened and easy to keep patched.

My preference is to keep all three sites inside a single Docker container (with a matching MySQL service), rather than splitting every site or service out. If you feel a slight tweak is essential for stability or future upgrades, explain the trade-off first—I’m open to sensible suggestions as long as the overall footprint and management overhead stay low.

Each site is currently running on MySQL, classic Apache + PHP; nothing exotic, just old and expensive. You’ll be responsible for:

• Creating the container image and a docker-compose (or similar) file that spins up web server, PHP runtime and MySQL in one tidy bundle
• Migrating the files, databases and make SSL certificates (or automating fresh Let’s Encrypt certs)

• Hardening the stack—no root inside containers, minimal packages, automatic security updates where practical
• Supplying a short, clear README so I can rebuild or update the containers myself later

Acceptance is simple: all three sites load fast and error-free on the VPS, admin dashboards work, and the compose file rebuilds cleanly from scratch.

You’ll get full SSH access to the server plus tar.gz'ed package with old folders and sql exports. You’ll provide full SSH access to a Debian Trixie VPS server along with the necessary files for the migration. Let me know your timeline and any questions you have about plugin versions or PHP requirements, and we can get started right away.
