i am indexing a json file, however i'm getting numfound = 1 after querying all. The format looks bad

I'm seeking assistance with indexing a JSON file of medium size (1MB - 10MB). There are special characters present in the file, so an experienced programmer familiar with encoding and decoding processes would be ideal. Ultimately, I need reverse indexing in order to be able to access and query all of the data on the file. I am currently getting a numfound = 1, so it is more than likely that the formatting of the file being utilized is incorrect. I look forward to working with you as soon as possible.
