BackEnd in a home automation system; Smart Home; Security

We need help to build a backend system, including a mobile application to run a security system. It is very similar to a home security system for smart homes. We have a hardware unit that shall be connected to the backend, controlled by a computer or a phone APP. The system requires various hookups with APIs from third party sources.
