I'm an independent researcher and tinkerer working on a personal passion project. I've spent the better part of a year developing the theory and digital architecture for a highly sensitive, multi-channel signal acquisition unit.
My expertise is in the system design and theory. Where I need help—and where I'm hoping to find a collaborator—is in turning these schematics and concepts into a physically robust, low-noise piece of hardware.
**The Challenge & What I Need Help With:**
This is where your expertise comes in. I need a skilled, hands-on builder to help me construct three alpha prototypes. This isn't about mass production; it's about crafting three, high-quality instruments. The work would involve:
* **Careful Circuit Assembly:** You'll be bringing the analog front-end to life. This means expert soldering of fine-pitch surface-mount components (instrumentation amps, etc.) and through-hole parts. We can use a custom PCB I have designed, or if you believe a different method (like a well-executed perfboard or "dead bug" build) would yield lower noise, I am completely open to your expert opinion.
* **Winding Custom Coils:** This is one of the most critical parts. The design calls for a tightly-coupled transducer array, which requires the precise manual winding of several coils, including a dipole pair using Litz wire. This is a task for a patient artisan.
* **Building a 'Quiet' Device:** You'll need to implement the RF shielding as specified in the plans. We both know that minimizing noise is a black art, and I'm looking for someone who treats stray capacitance and ground loops as personal enemies to be vanquished.
* **Final Assembly:** Putting it all together. This could involve modifying a standard project box or fabricating a simple housing. The goal is a sturdy, reliable instrument that can be taken out for testing, not something that has to live on a bench.
