Crash Human Dummy Model FEA Simulation

• We need to assess the safety criterion of a passenger under certain vehicle crash accelerations.
• Deliverables. You are required to:
o Provide a professional human dummy model. This should include appropriate joints in arms, shoulders, knees, pelvis, thorax, spine and neck. Proper contacts and joints between different parts should be defined. Proper materials should be assigned to different parts. In short, the dummy model should represent a real human. You may use a ready model, or build your own.
o Find/Provide;
 a seat.
 a restraining seatbelt model.
 Define occupant zone/space
o Apply initial velocity to the assembly (dummy + seat + seatbelt + occupant space).
o Apply deceleration to the seat.
o Get the results of;
 acceleration of head & pelvis.
 Head Injury Criterion (HIC), based on head acceleration.
 Thorax Compression Criterion (ThCC), based on chest deflection between the sternum and the spine.
 Neck injury criterion (NIC), based on force between
o Get the femur force criterion, based on the axial compressive force of femur bone in the thigh.
 Tibia Compressive Force Criterion (TCFC) and Tibia Index (TI), based on the compressive force of tibia bone in the leg.
o Conduct simulation within LS-DYNA or Ansys software.
o Provide software copy of all the project file(s) when complete.
o Provide full documentation explaining in details all the results and how to re-generate these results.
o These should be reported in 3 milestones.

• We will supply acceleration-time input data, as well as initial velocity. This is based on crash simulations of our vehicles.
• This should be straight forward for someone with experience in automotive crash safety FEA simulations. Optimally, you are experienced in one or more of the following: Ansys, LS-DYNA, LS-Prepost, ANSA, Oasys Primer, Altair Hyperworks, Radioss, Abaqus, Explicit Dynamics, FAE.
