CFD Jet A-1 vs SAF Comparison

Job ID: 39942956

Budget: $30 – $250 USD

I’m running a study in Ansys Fluent to understand how conventional Jet A-1 and a selected Sustainable Aviation Fuel behave under identical operating conditions. The goal is to build both 2D and 3D CFD models that capture liquid and vapor phases, then quantify and compare:

• Combustion efficiency – flame stability, heat-release rate, and overall combustion completeness
• Emission levels – NOx, CO, unburned hydrocarbons, and soot predictions
• Thermal properties – temperature fields, heat-transfer coefficients, and wall-temperature impacts

Scope
1. Geometry and meshing: create or adapt simplified combustor geometry for 2D sectional and full 3D domains, ensuring mesh independence.
2. Physics setup: implement appropriate turbulence, spray, and combustion models; define material properties for Jet A-1 and the SAF blend.
3. Simulation runs: calibrate steady and transient cases for each fuel in both liquid-spray and gas-phase regions.
4. Post-processing: extract contour plots, time-averaged data, and integrated performance metrics.
5. Comparative report: consolidate findings in a concise PDF with visuals, discussing key differences and operational implications.

I’ll provide boundary conditions, operating points, and fuel property data sheets; you bring the Ansys expertise, systematic workflow, and clear documentation so results are traceable and reproducible. Experience with multiphase combustion in Fluent is essential.
