I have a 57 m planing hull and a clean, detailed 3D model ready to import into Ansys Fluent / CFX. I need a full calm-water resistance study that combines high-fidelity CFD with a parallel Savitsky method calculation so I can cross-check both approaches before our next design review.

What I expect from the CFD run is straightforward: accurately resolved total resistance values across a useful speed range, clear flow-pattern visualisations around the hull, and pressure distribution plots that highlight any critical zones. Please keep mesh independence, appropriate turbulence modelling for planing craft, and free-surface capturing best practices in mind.

For clarity, the final hand-off should include:
• Resistance curve and tabulated data (CFD + Savitsky side-by-side)
• Contour images / short animation of flow and pressure fields
• Brief technical note summarising setup, assumptions, and key findings
