Aircraft External Aerodynamics CFD

Job ID: 40630246

Budget: $30 – $250 AUD

I need a detailed external-flow simulation of an aircraft in Ansys Fluent. The goal is to capture aerodynamic forces and surface pressure distributions with enough accuracy for early-stage design decisions. I will supply the CAD model in STEP format; you will handle clean-up, meshing, solver setup, post-processing, and a concise technical report. You will also need to update the CAD model based on the sizing I will provide, like updating chord length, propeller sizes etc.

Scope
• Mesh the full aircraft with adequate boundary-layer resolution (y+ ≈ 1 preferred) using either the built-in mesher or Ansys Meshing.
• Run steady and, if needed, transient cases in Fluent, applying a suitable turbulence model (k–ω SST).
• Deliver plots for Cp, velocity vectors, streamlines, lift, drag, and moment coefficients across the specified angle-of-attack range.
• Return the project archive: mesh, case, data files, and the report (PDF + editable source).

Acceptance criteria
1. Residuals <1 × 10⁻⁴ and forces stable within 1 %.
2. Grid-independence demonstrated with at least two mesh densities.
3. Results formatted so I can replicate them by re-running the case files without modification.

Please outline your relevant Fluent experience with aircraft or similar external aerodynamics problems and indicate the turnaround you can commit to.
