WoW Video Editor for Cinematic & Trailer-Style

Job ID: 39547186

Budget: €100 – €400 EUR

World of Warcraft Video Editor Wanted - Ongoing Creative Project (Trailer/Artistic Style)

I'm looking for a highly creative video editor familiar with World of Warcraft to craft short, visually compelling videos using unedited in-game footage (5–10 hours provided). The goal is to produce 60–120 second videos that feel intense, dynamic, exciting, and modern. These will serve a marketing purpose, but we're not looking for aggressive ads, we value artistic expression, music sync, and a cool, cinematic feel.

The Ideal Editor:
- Knows WoW gameplay, mechanics, and terminology
- Is able to dig through raw footage and identify the most powerful moments
- Has a keen ear for music and can find unique tracks (not overused songs please)
- Is skilled in syncing music to visuals, adding transitions, effects, and motion that fit the beat
- Understands subtle, stylish UI work (especially name blurring, this is very important)
- Open to feedback and revisions and willing to work collaboratively

Two Types of Videos We're Creating:
You can start with either style, this will help us see your strengths and creative vision.

**Type 1: TRAILER-STYLE**
- Fast-paced
- Intense, hype-inducing
- Includes text for storytelling/selling
- Example: https://youtu.be/-BQCRHwdvxs?si=v908PQCkTLuF01A5

**Type 2: ARTISTIC SHORT MOVIE**
- More cinematic, creative
- Mood-driven, with strong visual rhythm
- Slower tempo is okay if artistic quality is high
- Example: https://youtu.be/MJ2iaNtE-V0?si=Vy0JObXv-jwnSdPZ

**Note**: I will add here a third video as an example because it has some good components, however, it is very outdated by today’s standards, especially in the footage department — it uses the same dungeon throughout. Still, it’s a decent reference: https://youtu.be/JBVZWf8qmSQ?si=nHyiaHKrbx9yW6zC

Important Requirements:
- All character names must be hidden. Use minimalistic, stylish blur effects — nothing ugly or bulky.
- You’ll receive 5–10 hours of gameplay, and your job is to identify the best 60–100 seconds of footage.
- Music choice is crucial. Avoid cliché or overly used tracks. Must sync well with visuals.
- Deliver small previews early (e.g., 10–15 seconds or intro/outro samples) to make sure we’re aligned. This saves time and avoids unnecessary full-redos.
- Expect 5+ revision rounds if needed, but ideally, we avoid this through early alignment.

What We Don’t Want:
- Lazy editing (e.g., using one dungeon or setting for the whole video)
- Recycled music or overused transitions
- Unclear blur or exposed names
- Low-energy pacing — these need to feel packed with dopamine and energy

Tips:
- Review the examples, but understand they’re outdated. We want something modern, bold, and tighter-paced.
- Consider using motion graphics/text, fast cuts, custom transitions, etc.
- If chosen, this could turn into a long-term collaboration. We want many videos like this.

Let Me Know:
Please confirm in your proposal:
- You’ve read and understood all details above
- You’re familiar with World of Warcraft
- You’re comfortable doing a small preview sample before jumping into full editing
- You’re okay with an iterative, feedback-heavy workflow
- You’re confident in creating both artistic and high-energy trailer styles

If you’ve got a portfolio with WoW or similar edits, even better.

**Freelancer Filter Note (read carefully)**:
To help us identify editors who truly read and understand the full description (instead of auto-generated messages), please include the following three phrases somewhere in your response:
- “I lovee the idea”
- “I lovee the project”
- “I lovee World of Warcraft”

You can use them naturally in a sentence, but proposals missing at least **two out of these three** will likely be ignored. This helps us avoid low-effort or AI-generated spam.

Thanks — looking forward to working with someone passionate and creative!
