REIGN: A gritty Super Hero Saga

I’m deep into production on REIGN, an adult-oriented superhero drama that sits tonally alongside Watchmen or Invincible, not Saturday-morning capes. The animatic for the pilot is locked and I now need an experienced animator to carry it across the finish line.
Performance sits at the core of every scene: micro-expressions, shifting body weight, those telling half-seconds of stillness that reveal who a character really is. If you thrive on nuanced character expressions and body language, you’re already speaking my language.
When violence erupts, it does so in high-octane, dynamic fashion—flight at Mach speeds above smokestacks, super-strength clashes that leave concrete reeling—yet it always obeys weight, consequence and grounded physics.
Authenticity matters. We move from 1963 Birmingham to 1971 Washington, D.C., so the era’s architecture and infrastructure—from segregated bus stations to emerging brutalist federal buildings—need to feel lived-in, not museum-fresh.
Many sequences rely on holding tension in complete stillness; knowing when to let a moment breathe is just as important as choreographing mayhem.
I’ll provide locked animatics, detailed model sheets, color keys and shot breakdowns. Your deliverables will include rough passes for notes, cleaned-up finals in the software you’re most comfortable with (Toon Boom, TVPaint, etc.), and a brief summary of any creative deviations.
