Off-Highway Instrument Cluster Design
Budget: $750 – $1,500 USD
I’m ready to move from concept sketches to a fully-specified digital design for the instrument cluster of a purpose-built 4WD snow-blower truck that operates off-highway. The cluster must present everything the operator needs at a glance: Speed and RPM, fuel and engine temperature, gear and 4WD status, DEF level, oil and air pressure, steering mode, brake set indicator, plus the usual array of warning icons and alerts. I already have sample layouts that illustrate the look, colour coding and icon set I’m after; think of them as a style guide rather than a finished product.
What I need now is a designer who can translate those ideas into production-ready graphics and a logical screen flow. You’ll determine the optimal hierarchy of information, create day/night themes, and supply assets in layered formats suitable for both LCD and TFT implementation. If you have experience with CAN bus data mapping or with tools such as Altia, Crank Storyboard or QT for MCUs, please mention it; that will help us align the art with the eventual firmware. The final product will be used in CodeSYS software where it will be compiled for production HMIs.
Deliverables
• A pixel-perfect master layout for the main operating screen, fault/diagnostic screen and settings screen.
• Individual PNG/SVG assets plus the original layered source file (PSD, AI or Sketch).
• A brief hand-off document that explains fonts, color, and animation cues.
Acceptance criteria
• All specified data points are visible, legible, and logically grouped.
• Icons conform to ISO/SAE standards where applicable.
• Day and night modes each pass a quick visual-contrast check when viewed under snowy, low-light conditions.
