Motion graphics animation artist to bring to life watercolour paintings in a picture book
Budget: $750 – $1,500 AUD
I am looking for a motion graphics wizard / animator to animate line drawings and watercolour artwork that will form the foundation of a picture book. The story will support children who have lost loved ones to suicide, and the inspiration for the authoring and illustration of this book comes from the lived experience of losing my own father to suicide.
I am hoping this book will help others feel seen and supported in their healing journey. Whilst I have always been a painter and artist, I would be grateful for someone who has the skills to bring this artwork alive and create media formats and outcomes that can be projected into different settings / spaces.
There is a-lot of creative freedom in the scope of the project and you will be directly involved with an emerging author in the release of their debut picture book. Although an adjacent picture book I am also working on, the Instagram @awhalestaleworld is another animal allegory that gives a preview of the universe of this work. In this book, a whale, a gallah and a nightingale go into the stars and look for their fathers soul (a gentle elephant). Please see a sample drawing attached, of an elephant 'choosing' to leave Earth by walking into the sky.
The settings will be beautiful, poetic and poignant seascapes, cloud scapes and star scapes. If this project enchants you, please get in touch.
