Jack in the Box with Four Jokers
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
We are working on a brand new gaming concept that employs four different jack in the box characters (jokers). As you play the game, you must perform certain activities before a joker randomly pops out of the box and ends the game.
This is what we're looking for.
1 closed jack in the box image.
1 short animation (0.5 seconds) of the box shaking, but not opening (to create player tension).
4 distinct joker characters. The characters all must appear like a joker or jester on a playing card, but you can get creative. (i.e., a fat, unshaven joker with clown paint wearing a top hat and smoking a cigar, another joker with a jester hat drinking a cocktail, etc.). We want them to be funny, but annoying in a way that you get ticked off when one of them pops up and it makes you want to "beat the jokers" and keep playing. Think Bad Santa as a joker.
4 animations for each joker character (16 total) of the character popping out of the jack in the box (where the lower torso is a spring) and then performing a gesture (i.e. taunting the player, blowing cigar smoke and sneering, thumbing their nose, etc.). After each gesture, the joker should return back into the box. The total time for the gesture should be approximately 5 seconds. The gestures should not be offensive (i.e., no having the joker give the middle finger). Thumbing their nose at the player or other semi-offensive gestures is totally acceptable. Sneering at and mocking the player is encouraged. Have fun with it!
All animations should be 3D. Note that the box will be positioned on the right-side of the screen, so 3D should reflect this. The animations should have a transparent background. The animations will be shown in both mobile and desktop and should be responsive. The mobile space will be approximately 130px X 130px. The desktop will expand to 2x to 3x or more, so the image needs to look crisp at larger sizes.
This is how we would prefer to proceed.
Step 1. Come up with a static image for each of the four joker characters. This will give us an idea of your creative vision and it's overall look and feel. If we like what you've produced, we can take it from there (pricing, timing, etc.).
