Creating a short video clip using a method of drawing over video footage (i.e. Rotoscoping)

For this module, you will creating a short video clip using a method of drawing over video footage (i.e. rotoscoping).
What is Rotoscoping?
Rotoscoping refers to the technique of creating animation by hand drawing over individual frames of film or video. The process is somewhat similar to stop motion in that it involves working on individual still frames to create the final video file. However, in this case the work is not done with a camera but by drawing. Historically this was done by tracing over images using pen, ink and paper but is now most commonly done by drawing digitally in Photoshop or Illustrator.
Project Concept
For the basis of your rotoscope animation you may choose any existing video clip you wish. It can be a found clip, something you make specifically for this project, or even your previous stop motion animation. Any short clip that already exists as a video file is fine.
The chosen video clip should also have some defensible relation to your previous stop motion project, whether that be in concept, subject matter, emotion, or color palette. The module assignments are going to build towards a longer video composition at the end of the semester so at this point you should begin thinking about elements that will thread them together.
The chosen video clip should also have clearly moving objects within it or the rotoscoping effect will not be very apparent or interesting.
Learning Objectives
have the ability to create a video composition using multiple still frames that are hand drawn
have the ability to create a video composition that creates a consistent artistic direction, aesthetic and mood
have an understanding of how variable frame rates affect the overall speed and aesthetic
have the ability to output (render) a final video composition to a shareable format
Project Parameters
final animation must be at least 20 sec/200 frames long
The final video should be silent
the final video must be in full HD 1920x1080 at 24 fps
final project file must be submitted as an MP4 file using the H.264 codec
Hi guys, This is my choice for my rotoscoping project. That was a story between Biti's Hunter (a famous Vietnamese shoe brand) and director Phuong Vu, and then a Hanoi with opposite cultural extremes was inspired by the lens of the Antiantiart team. In this project, Biti's Hunter was fortunate to find not only an individual but a group of young people passionately in love with Hanoi, looking at the thousand-year-old capital in a pompous and daring way. The storyteller flow, the creative set design, unique color palette, and tone of that video really are the artistic style that I'm following. I will be using iPad to drawing each footage and creating animation on Ae.
