a bus animates on to the screen with sound effects. some people get off the bus...and the bus drives off.

students connect a real-life taking away scenario to subtraction. A bus with 17 people and 4 people jump off. There are less people on the bus when people get off, the number decreases. How can we know how many people are still on the bus:We can count backwards to find how many people are still on the bus.
