Avatar-Inspired "Gender Reveal" Short Film Editing
Budget: ₹12,500 – ₹37,500 INR
Job Title:
Cinematic Video Editor & After Effects Artist for Avatar: The Last Airbender–Style Gender Reveal Short Film
Project Overview:
My fiancée and I filmed a short, cinematic gender-reveal inspired by Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra.
We’ve shot all 4K footage on a Sony a7S III — sunrise, slow-motion, and costumed scenes — and now we’re looking for a top-tier video editor + After Effects artist to bring it to life with full element-bending visual effects and a movie-trailer feel.
The concept:
The Avatar cycle continues — the world out of balance — until pink smoke (after effects) reveals the next Avatar has arrived (our baby girl, Korra).
We want this edit to feel like an Avatar teaser trailer — cinematic, emotional, and visually stunning.
What You’ll Be Editing
4K Sony a7S III footage (multiple angles + 120 fps slow motion)
Effects for Water, Earth, Fire, Air, and the final reveal
Dialogue + Voice-over (already recorded)
Background music: Legend-of-Korra piano/orchestral score
What We Want to See in the Edit
We want the full Avatar experience, not just color tweaks — real, cinematic element-bending.
Include VFX for all four elements:
Water bending: flowing water tendrils, ripples, or droplets moving through air
Earth bending: dust and rock bursts when foot hits ground
Fire bending: torch flares and controlled flame arcs
Air bending: gusts of wind, swirling particles, or distortion waves
Final Reveal: pink smoke + energy wave to symbolize “It’s a girl – Her name is Korra”
Each element should feel mystical but grounded — not cartoonish. Think Netflix-quality realism meets fantasy.
What You’ll Deliver
Color-graded cinematic short (60–90 seconds)
All four bending effects composited into live footage
Pink smoke reveal enhanced with glow & particle VFX
Title animation:
THE LEGEND OF KORRA
(fade →) It’s a Girl. Her Name is Korra.
Final sound design: wind, fire crackle, heartbeat, water movement, ambient whoosh
4K exports + project files (.prproj + .aep)
Ideal Freelancer
Expert in Adobe Premiere Pro + After Effects
Skilled at compositing, rotoscoping, particle systems, and smoke/fire simulation
Experience with Trapcode Particular, Optical Flares, or similar plugins
Strong color-grading and cinematic LUT workflow
Portfolio shows realistic energy or elemental VFX
Bonus: passion for Avatar or fantasy short films
Timeline
By Wednesday November 12th
Budget
Open based on skill and reel quality — targeting 200-500 USD for full edit + VFX.
To Apply
Please include:
A quick intro and relevant experience.
Links to previous work with elemental / fantasy VFX (fire, smoke, particles, energy, etc.).
Confirmation that you can deliver all four bending effects in realistic cinematic style.
Estimated turnaround and total cost.
Deliverables
1 Cinematic 4 K Horizontal Edit (90 s)
1 Social Cut (60 s Vertical)
All project files (Premiere + After Effects)
Three still frames for poster/thumbnail use
