FB, IG 2D Ad Animation
Budget: $10 – $30 USD
I need a snappy 2D animation built specifically for a Facebook or Instagram ad. The goal is to stop the scroll within the first seconds, deliver a clear message, and push viewers toward a call-to-action. While the primary placement is Facebook, I’d like the final render to be flexible enough to repurpose for Instagram or other social feeds if needed.
What I already have:
• A rough script and brand assets (logo, colors, fonts)
• Key message points for the advertisement
What I’m asking you to handle:
• Storyboarding a short, attention-grabbing sequence (10–15 s is ideal, but open to your expert recommendation)
• Producing the full 2D animation with engaging transitions, on-brand typography, and background music or sound effects you source (royalty-free)
• Two revision rounds so we can fine-tune pacing and visuals
• Final delivery in MP4 (1080×1080 square and 1080×1350 vertical) plus the editable project file (After Effects or similar)
Acceptance criteria:
1. Animation meets Facebook ad specs and plays smoothly without compression artifacts.
2. Brand colors and logo are applied exactly as provided.
3. Text remains readable on mobile at standard feed size.
4. Final files and source project are delivered on time and pass my review.
If you have previous social ad work, feel free to mention it when you send your approach.
Scenario:
0) Goal & deliverables
Create a short explainer sales animation showing the benefit of home battery storage + energy management for a house that already has solar panels.
Duration: 12–15 seconds.
Deliver files:
MP4 H.264 (1920×1080, 25 or 30 fps)
Vertical 9:16 version (1080×1920) if possible from the same project (second composition is fine).
Style: 2D flat / infographic, clean icons, clear energy-flow arrows, minimal details.
Must be fully understandable without sound (captions + visuals).
1) Visual style guidelines
Clean bright background. Use simple icons: house, solar panels, grid, battery.
Color logic:
yellow = solar energy
red = loss / buying from the grid
green = savings / stored energy
Simple readable motion: moving arrows, icon pop-ins, fades, small transitions.
Minimal text, large font, max 1–2 lines per scene.
2) Storyboard & timing (second-by-second)
Scene 1 (0.0–3.0 s) — “Current situation”
10. Frame: house with solar panels + sun + small inverter icon near the house.
11. Animation: yellow energy arrows:
- part of the energy goes to the house,
- the surplus goes to the grid (grid icon labeled “GRID”).
12. On the arrow to the grid, show a coin icon that shrinks / cracks / disappears (clear metaphor: “selling for pennies”).
13. On-screen text: “You send your energy… for cheap”
Scene 2 (3.0–5.0 s) — “At night you pay again”
14. Transition: sun sets (sunset icon). Panels stop producing.
15. Animation: red arrows from the grid to the house (house draws power from the grid).
16. Add a simple rising bill/counter icon (currency symbol + upward arrow).
17. Text: “At night… you pay again”
Scene 3 (5.0–8.0 s) — “Solution: Battery storage”
18. Show a home battery icon next to the house with label: “HOME BATTERY”.
19. Animation: surplus solar energy flows into the battery (yellow arrows to the battery).
20. The grid icon fades into the background (less important).
21. Text: “Keep your energy for later”
Scene 4 (8.0–11.0 s) — “Day/Night loop”
22. Split screen:
- left: “DAY” + sun + battery charging (battery fill turns green),
- right: “NIGHT” + moon + house powered from battery (green arrows battery → house).
23. Text (two short lines):
- “Day: store it”
- “Night: use it”
Scene 5 (11.0–14.0/15.0 s) — “Benefit + punchline”
24. House becomes subtly green-glowing (positive outcome).
25. Add 2–3 small benefit icons minimal.
26. Final big text:
- “Your energy. Your savings.”
27. Last 1–1.5 sec: space for logo/system name (if no logo provided, keep placeholder: “LOGO / BRAND NAME”).
3) Audio (optional)
If music is added, it must be royalty-free. But priority: works perfectly muted.
Voice-over is not required. If offered, deliver both with VO and without.
4) Required deliverables
Deliver:
final MP4 (16:9) + (optional 9:16)
source project file (After Effects .aep / Premiere / Blender etc.) + all used assets
optional short GIF preview for messaging
Revisions: include 2 revision rounds (text, timing, icons).
5) Key communication rules
No technical numbers (no kWh, tariffs, charts). Must be instantly understood by non-technical homeowners.
The key emotional beats must be clear:
“I’m giving it away for pennies” (coins disappear),
“I can keep it” (battery charges),
“I use it at night” (night scene powered from battery).
