Senior GIS Developer
Budget: $15 – $25 USD
We are seeking an experienced GIS Analyst to join our growing team at Connectbase. GIS Analysts are responsible for taking on building out our internal GIS database and application for the Connected World support environment. The focus is on the analysis and administration of GIS data and systems in support of network infrastructure and location intelligence we maintain for our customers. This includes but is not limited to data normalization and import, workflow customization and automation, designing and implementing custom data models, and network topology analysis, building visualization, analysis, and administrative tools to support the business processes and goals of the company.
Primary Responsibilities, including but not limited to:
Prepare, maintain, and update maps and other graphic representations of the network and network resources.
Maintain customer data using GIS tools and performs spatial analysis for electronic mapping.
Maintain attribute data pertaining to specific features such as serviceability, product and pricing data related to location.
Incorporate maps, charts, data files, spreadsheet data and text into reports.
Establish and maintain GIS data and workflow standards.
Coordinate data conversion processes and workflow.
Write scripts to automate routine tasks.
Design and deploy database schema updates to support business requirements.
Maintain GIS systems and coordinate with database administrators to ensure system performance and availability.
Responsible for customer communication throughout project life cycle:
Participate in the discovery process with the customer to define and scope the project deliverables.
Responsible for communicating with the customer throughout project on areas of uncertainty in order to resolve any impediments to success.
Present project outcome directly with customer, supporting analysis, methodology and outcomes.
Working Skills & Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or commensurate working experience; Master’s degree in GIS, Data Analytics, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
Experience with Python, ArcGIS, QGIS, gdal, postgis, PostgreSQL, geo server, and Mapbox.
Experience automating workflows.
Experience implementing customized data models.
Experienced in Advanced GIS Analysis.
Experience administering PostgreSQL or other DBMS.
Excellent written and oral communications skills with the ability to effectively communicate across the organization as well as to directly with the customer.
Telecom OSP experience with fiber optic networks related to mapping and GIS a plus but not needed, will train.
