DSpace 8.1 Angular UI – Homepage Customisation (Theme Override)

Project Description
I am running an academic repository based on DSpace 8.1 with Angular UI.
I need a small frontend task to customise the homepage only, using a theme override method (upgrade-safe). Core Angular files must not be edited.
This is not a full website build—only homepage customisation.

Scope of Work
1. Create a custom Angular theme extending the default DSpace theme
2. Override the home-page component within the theme
3. Add homepage sections using provided HTML content:
o Hero section
o About the repository
o Communities & collections
o Recently added items
4. Apply clean, minimal styling (academic look)
5. Rebuild Angular UI (npm run build:prod)
6. Restart PM2 services
7. Ensure the site loads correctly after deployment

Technical Requirements (Must Have)
• Experience with DSpace 7 or DSpace 8
• Good knowledge of Angular (DSpace Angular UI)
• Experience with theme overrides
• Comfortable working on a Linux server via SSH
• Familiar with Node, npm, PM2

What I Will Provide
• SSH access to the server
• Homepage text/content (ready to paste)
• Clear instructions and support during the task

What I Do NOT Need
• Backend changes
• Database work
• API development
• Core DSpace modification

Deliverables
• Custom Angular theme created
• Homepage customised as requested
• Working Angular UI after rebuild
• No core files modified
