Barter Marketplace MVP Development

Job ID: 40040642

Budget: $15 – $25 USD

I’m ready to move from idea to working MVP for Xchange Doc, a local barter hub where car owners, mechanics, and DIYers can swap vehicles, parts, or labor without cash. My immediate goal is to release a clean, test-ready web app in 8–10 weeks, so I’m looking for a full-stack partner who can take the project from repo setup to deployment.

Front end
I’ve settled on Angular for the UI. I’m after a lightweight SPA that feels familiar to marketplace users—think quick listing creation, infinite scroll for browsing, and responsive layouts for mobile first. Reusable components, solid state management, and unit tests are must-haves so we can iterate quickly after launch.

Back end
I’m flexible on the server stack: Node.js, Django, or Laravel are all on the table as long as they pair well with Postgres or MongoDB and you can justify the choice. What matters is clean architecture, RESTful (or GraphQL) endpoints, JWT auth, and room for future micro-services.

Core feature set to deliver
• User auth (email or social) with role tagging for car owners, mechanics, and DIYers
• CRUD listings covering cars, parts, and services, including image uploads and status toggles
• Search & filter by make, model, year, and ZIP-radius using a geolocation API (Google Maps or similar)
• Barter offer workflow: initiate, counter, accept/decline, plus automatic status updates on both listings involved
• In-app messaging limited to users with a pending trade to keep things tidy
• Admin dashboard for flag review, user suspensions, and manual edits
• Deployment to a staging URL (Heroku, Vercel, or comparable) and hand-off scripts for production

Acceptance criteria
1. All endpoints covered by automated tests with at least 80 % coverage.
2. Lighthouse performance score ≥ 85 on mobile for public pages.
3. End-to-end trade flow demoed live with two test accounts.
4. Clear README with setup, env variables, and one-click seed data.

If this scope lines up with your skill set—especially if you’ve shipped location-based marketplaces before—let’s talk milestones and lock in a start date.
