Azure DevOps Deployment & Configuration Support (Same-day)

Overview

We have an existing Microsoft Azure DevOps setup where:
Source code is already in Azure DevOps Repos (organized in branches)
Build pipelines and release pipelines have already been created
We need an experienced Azure DevOps / Azure engineer to help us deploy and configure the solution properly, confirm successful deployments to Azure Web Apps, and document exactly what was done.

This is primarily a configuration + deployment verification engagement (not new app development).

Scope of Work
1) Validate and Fix Deployment Configuration
Review existing Azure DevOps pipelines and release definitions
Verify build artifacts are produced correctly and passed into releases
Confirm correct branch-to-environment mapping (e.g., dev/test/prod, if applicable)
Check and fix any misconfigurations preventing successful deployments

2) Deploy to Azure Web Apps (App Service)
Ensure the required Azure Web Apps are deployed successfully from the release pipeline
Validate application startup and availability after deployment
Ensure correct App Service settings are in place, including (as applicable):
Application settings / environment variables
Connection strings (secure handling via variables / Key Vault)
Service connections / permissions
Slot settings / swap steps (if using deployment slots)
Runtime stack settings (Node/.NET/etc.)
Build vs. release responsibilities (build in pipeline vs. Kudu/Oryx)

3) Verification & Handover
Provide confirmation of successful deployments (URLs + screenshots/log references)
Ensure deployments are repeatable and stable (re-run release to confirm)

4) Documentation (Required)
Deliver a short, clear deployment handover document that includes:
What was reviewed/changed in pipelines/releases
Environment details and deployment steps
Variables/secret handling approach (without exposing secrets)
Troubleshooting notes and how to validate deployments going forward

Deliverables
Successful deployment to all required Azure Web Apps
Working Azure DevOps pipeline + release configuration (as-is, corrected where needed)
Deployment handover documentation (1–3 pages is fine)



Required Skills
Strong Azure DevOps experience (Pipelines + Releases)
Azure App Service / Web Apps deployment experience
Troubleshooting pipeline/release failures from logs
Secure configuration practices (service connections, Key Vault/variables)
Access / What We Provide

Access to Azure subscription/resource group (or guided access if restricted)
Existing pipeline + release definitions already created
